Remodeling doesn't have to be extremely time consuming and expensive. Here are Maggie's best tips and tricks for a quick facelift (that could even have a great return on investment if you're looking to spruce up a bit before listing your home for sale)!
We all know that fresh paint, new light fixtures, and updated flooring can really change the look of a room. This is especially true in bathrooms! To add to those few things, bathrooms can be very easily spruced up with a deep cleaning, new wall hangings, and a funky new shower curtain for detail and texture.
Kitchen remodels can get very expensive. When you start thinking about counter tops, cabinetry, appliances, flooring… it can all add up and become overwhelming. Start by thinking smaller: painting walls and cabinets with a fresh, modern color; putting new pulls and handles on the doors and drawers; adding a tile backsplash; and even some under-cabinet lighting can change the entire look of your kitchen!
Spruce up the exterior of the house with some green and/or flowering plants but be functional at the same time! This one can get a little bit boring but think about it… one of the biggest "issues" we see during a home inspection is settling dirt and landscaping around the house. This can cause water and drainage issues if it is not properly addressed. Fix any issues while making it pop, bringing some great curb appeal! Feeling super ambitious about the curb appeal?! Paint or replace the front door!
Are you lucky enough to have a mudroom in your home?! Again, fresh paint and flooring could make your space look larger and more updated, BUT adding some floating shelves, bench seating, and fun baskets or storage containers for the things you DON'T want to be seen can give the space a whole new feel! Don't have a mudroom? Utilize space in the garage! Add a little locker space with cubbies, simply hang fun coat hooks, or bring in a bench for shoe storage and seating!
